A small operation built around one idea: Sikh heritage and a proper holiday don't have to be two different trips.
How this got started
Guru Nanak Dev Ji spent nearly three decades on the road — on foot, mostly, across four great journeys that reached from Bengal to Baghdad, Sri Lanka to Tibet. That history is enormous, and it sits, often quite literally, along the same roads as some of India's best-known holidays: a Kashmir trip that passes within a few kilometres of Chatti Padshahi Gurudwara, a Rishikesh weekend a short drive from Paonta Sahib, a Tamil Nadu temple circuit that runs straight through Rameswaram, where Guru Nanak is said to have stayed for nineteen days.
Most trip planning doesn't connect those dots. You get a mainstream itinerary that skips the gurudwara entirely, or a separate pilgrimage tour that skips everything else. We started this because we couldn't find anyone building the version in between — a real, comfortable holiday that also takes you to the places this history actually happened, planned properly rather than squeezed in as an afterthought.
We're early — this is a new idea we're building out one itinerary at a time, each one researched, fact-checked, and written before it ever goes on this site.
Meet the founder
For years, Vineet Pal Singh Rauniwal was the one planning his parents' trips — working out the routes, checking timings, figuring out which stops were worth the detour and which weren't. Somewhere in that, it became clear the same care could go into other people's holidays too, instead of the copy-paste itineraries most operators hand out. Sikh Heritage Journeys grew out of that: not a checklist of places to tick off, but a trip planned the way you'd plan one for your own family.
That's still mostly what the job looks like day to day: walking the routes himself, checking stories against more than one source before they go on this site, and figuring out which parts of a day deserve an extra hour and which don't. The goal isn't just to get you to the gurudwara and back — it's a trip that stays with you, not just a list of places you visited and moved on from. Every itinerary here passes through his hands before it's published, and if you message us on WhatsApp, there's a good chance you're talking to him directly.
Why not just book with a regular tour agent?
Honestly, sometimes that's the right call. Here's where we think we do it differently.
Built around the history, not bolted onto it
Most operators sell a mainstream package or a separate pilgrimage tour — rarely both. Every itinerary here starts from the Guru's own journey and builds the rest of the trip around it, not the other way round.
We verify before we write a word
Every historical claim on this site is checked against multiple sources before it goes up, and we say so plainly when something is tradition rather than settled record — not dressed up as fact just because it sounds better in a brochure.
We tell you the hard parts too

You talk to the person who built it
