Amritsar Express
Only got a long weekend? See Amritsar properly, not just the Golden Temple photo stop.
A compact 2-night trip that still covers the Golden Temple complex in depth, Amritsar's wider Sikh history, and the old city — for when a full Punjab circuit doesn't fit the calendar.
A 2-night, 3-day trip built entirely around Amritsar — the Golden Temple complex across two visits (including one after dark), Gurdwara Baba Deep Singh Ji, the Partition Museum, Gobindgarh Fort, and the old city's bazaars and food streets, without the longer road days of our full Punjab circuit. A good fit when time is short but you still want more than a rushed half-day at the temple.
The plan
Day by day
1Arrive in Amritsar
- Arrive in Amritsar and check in.
- Evening visit to the Golden Temple for your first darshan — the sanctum illuminated and reflected in the sarovar after dark.
- Evenings are slightly cooler and calmer than midday.
Pace: Gentle — mostly walking on the flat marble parikrama.
2A full day in Amritsar
- Pre-dawn start for Amrit Vela and the Palki Sahib procession (optional).
- Sri Akal Takht Sahib, the twin Ramgarhia Bunga towers, and the Central Sikh Museum.
- Join the langar hall for a meal — served to thousands of visitors regardless of faith or background.
- Gurdwara Baba Deep Singh Ji, marking where the elderly warrior-scholar fell defending the temple in 1757.
- The Partition Museum, the world's first dedicated to 1947's Partition, in Amritsar's old Town Hall.
- Afternoon at Gobindgarh Fort — Maharaja Ranjit Singh's armoury and mint, with a sound-and-light show.
Pace: The busiest day of this express trip — six stops, but all flat, easy walking within the old city.
3Bazaar morning & departure
- Morning at Hall Bazaar for last-minute phulkari dupattas, Punjabi juttis, and dry fruits.
- A final Amritsari kulcha and lassi at the old city's food stalls before checkout.
- Head to the airport or railway station for departure.
Pace: Gentle — a relaxed morning before departure.

Punjab Sikh Heritage Journey
A 6-night, 7-day route built to be walked through in the order Sikh history actually happened, with three full days given to Amritsar alone before the road heads out to Tarn Taran, Goindwal Sahib, Khadur Sahib, Anandpur Sahib, Fatehgarh Sahib, Chamkaur Sahib, and Chandigarh. A local Sikh historian accompanies the Amritsar days for storytelling and context beyond what's on a plaque — this is our most immersive Sikh heritage journey, less a sightseeing trip than a chronological walk through the story itself.
